Experience Island Life At Gili Meno

Gili Meno is situated between Trawangan and Gili Air. It is the quietest of the three islands and offers peaceful tranquility for those wanting to escape from it all. It is well known for accommodating honeymooners as well as beach lovers. The best beach on Meno is situated on the East coast offering spectacular views of Gili Air. It is unique amongst the Gilis as it is the only island to have a salt water lake. This lake is situated in the middle and can be a nice place to walk around.

Off the coast of Gili Meno there are world famous dive sites such as Meno Wall, Sea Turtle Point and Blue Coral Point.

Gili Meno has recently acquired a magnificent bird sanctuary housing hundreds of tropical birds from around Indonesia. It can be quite a nice break from the beach to walk around the aviaries and listen to the sweet sound of the singing parrots!

Gili Meno has kept itself as a quiet little tropical island but you can always find something to do if sunbathing gets a little monotonous. There are many places to rent snorkeling equipment and the coral off shore is teeming with marine life – you may even spot a turtle! Some of the best places for snorkeling however can only be reached by boat. You can ask any travel operator for a half day excursion on a boat or even a full day island hopping around all three islands.

As is the case with all three Gilis motor vehicles are forbidden on the island so the best way to get around is by Cidomo (horse and cart) or you can just rent a bicycle and pedal at your own leisure.

There is only one ATM in the Gilis and it is located on Gili Trawangan at the Villa Ombak. Various tour operators on Gili Meno will change money for you and cash travelers’ cheques.

Whatever you choose to do on Meno you can be sure of a genuine tropical island paradise.
