Diving Liveaboard Trips : Lembeh, North Sulawesi

Sulawesi, or also known as Celebes, an island in Indonesia. Sulawesi still has many natural and original forests, and thus also with the sea. These makes the island of Sulawesi become eligible for diving liveaboards trips.

Have you heard Bunaken, one of the most beautiful dive site in the world? Well, Bunaken is very attractive for the divers. Consisting of five islands: Bunaken, Manado Tua, Siladen, Mantehage and Nain, and very pleasant for our diving trips. Many beautiful wall diving and marine life and nice corals. Nudibranches, shrimps, crabs, pygmy sea horses. Butterfly fishes, parrot fishes, Napoleon wrasses,  sharks and turtles. Some spots for diving liveaboards trips to Bunaken: Lekuan (Bunaken), Home Village (Bunaken), Pangulingan (Manado Tua), Gorango (Mantehage), Stone Ship (Nain) and many more.

Travelling to the islands of Bangka is also interesting. Located at the northern tip of Sulawesi, Bangka island also offers plenty of enchantment under the sea. Gangga, Bangka and Talise, the three islands of Bangka Islands are amazing. Waters of Bangka Islands offer a varied topography, such as the pinnacles, rocks, slopes, a few walls, and some muck dive too.

Marine biota is very diverse and charming with a very nice and colorful soft Corals. Also a lot of critters. Some dive sites in Bangka Islands: Sahaun (Bangka), Bath Stone (Sulawesi), Paradise Jetty (Sulawesi), Lagoon Sahaun (Bangka), Lihaga (Gangga), Tanjung Arus (Talise). Then, we can continue to Lembeh Strait or north to Sangihe.

Lembeh, the strait that separates the island of Sulawesi and Lembeh Island. It has very much marine biodiversity. The Lembeh strait is famous for it’s muck dives. All kind of rare nudibranches, hairy frogfishes, ghost pipe fishes, and with a bit of luck mimic octopus, blue ring, are there. Some dive sites in Lembeh Strait: Angel’s Window, Hairball, Nudi Falls, Police Piers. Next, continue to Sangihe.

Sangihe Islands, northen Bangka Islands, is extending further north to the Philippines. This is very interesting adventure.

Many diverse coral and sponge. Also mackerels, parrots with bump, dog’s teeth buds, group of barracudas, sharks and sometimes, large shools of dolphin and whales. Also 2 volcanoes: underwater volcanos in Mahengetang and in Siau Island. Diving liveaboards trips will invite us to see the red summit of volcano in Siau Island at night. Both of volcano sites have a very beautiful dive site, too, and very rich in fish. Several dive spots: Biaro Island, Ruang and Tahulandang, Siau Island, Makalehi Island, Nenung Islands, Para Island, Mahengetang underwater volcano.
